Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Review medical history, conduct physical exams, and analyze lab results to determine anesthesia risk.
• Anesthesia Planning: Create tailored plans for various procedures (surgery, labor, critical care).
• Administration: Administer general, regional anesthesia, sedation, and analgesics.
• Monitoring: Continuously track vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen) and adjust anesthesia levels.
• Airway Management: Perform intubation, ventilation, and extubation.
• Emergency Response: Handle adverse reactions, complications, and cardiac events (e.g., defibrillation).
• Post-Op Care: Manage pain and ensure safe recovery from anesthesia.
• Collaboration: Work with surgeons, nurses, and other staff.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and procedure details.
• Supervision: Oversee nurse anesthetists and technical staff.
  

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Certification: Board-certified in Anesthesiology.
• Licensure: Valid medical license.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, manual dexterity, focus, stamina, and compassionate communication.
