Analytics Engineer/ Data Analyst / BI Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain LookML models in Looker to support self-service analytics.
• Build scalable and reusable data pipelines and transformations in BigQuery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into efficient data models, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization across dashboards and queries.
• Define and implement centralized business metrics for consistent reporting.
• Work with cross-functional teams (data engineering, product, business) to align analytics with business goals.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Looker dashboards, BigQuery performance, and data pipeline issues.
• Stay updated with best practices in BI, analytics engineering, and cloud data platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum

  5 years of relevant experience

  as an Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, or Data Analyst with strong technical ownership.
• Advanced proficiency in

  SQL

  (preferably Google BigQuery).
• Hands-on experience with

  Looker

  (LookML, Explores, Views, PDTs, user permissions).
• Strong knowledge of

  data modeling

  (star schema, snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions).
• Experience with

  data warehousing

  concepts and cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
• Ability to optimize SQL queries and Looker Explores for

  performance and scalability

  .
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with

  large, complex datasets

  .
• Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with

  version control (Git)

  and collaborative LookML development.
• Familiarity with

  dbt (data build tool)

  for transformation modeling.
• Exposure to other BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Understanding of

  ETL/ELT pipelines

  and orchestration tools (Airflow, Cloud Composer).

Preferred candidate profile

Preferred candidate should have 5+ years in BI/Analytics, expertise in Looker, BigQuery, SQL optimization, data warehousing concepts, cloud data platforms, and ability to build scalable, impactful dashboards and reporting solutions.
