Ambulance Driver

Job Summary:

The Ambulance Driver is responsible for safely transporting patients to and from hospitals, medical facilities, and residences. The role includes assisting medical staff during emergency calls and ensuring the ambulance is clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely drive the ambulance to transport patients, staff, and medical equipment.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls as per dispatch instructions.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and ready for use at all times.
• Assist paramedics or medical staff with patient movement and stretcher handling.
• Comply with traffic rules and hospital transport protocols.
• Maintain daily vehicle logs, fuel records, and patient transport records.
• Conduct routine checks on the ambulance's condition (brakes, lights, sirens, etc.).
• Report any mechanical issues or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow infection control and hygiene standards in the vehicle.
• Provide basic first aid support if trained and required.
• Remain calm and professional during emergency situations.

Qualifications:

• SSLC/10th pass (minimum); higher secondary preferred.
• Valid LMV/Transport Driving License with badge (as per state regulations).
• Minimum 2–3 years of ambulance or emergency vehicle driving experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with local routes and hospitals.
• Basic first aid knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
