Alarm Monitoring Engineer

What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor alarms and analyze network events

    to quickly identify and troubleshoot issues across

    RAN, Core CS, Core PS, IP, and IMS nodes

    .
  • Perform

    operation and maintenance activities

    including node health checks, backups, configuration changes, and fault management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues

    on Ericsson baseband equipment and other telecom network elements.
  • Manage and resolve network incidents

    , ensuring timely restoration of services to meet SLAs and maintain a low Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Utilize

    alarm monitoring tools

    such as CITRIX, Putty, EMS, and Netcool for effective network surveillance.
  • Collaborate closely with field teams

    to handle hardware failures, node unreachable issues, and other field-related activities.
  • Follow

    ITSM ticketing procedures

    : actively supervise ticket queues, document incident details, actions taken, and resolutions.
  • Communicate effectively

    with internal teams and external vendors for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Conduct

    routine maintenance tasks

    , including system updates and preventive checks.
  • Adhere to and contribute to the improvement of

    Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    .
  • Proactively detect potential failures

    and engage Incident Managers or automated systems to prevent or minimize service impact.

Skills You Bring: Required Qualifications

  • Qualification Required:

    Minimum B.Tech.
  • Strong telecom knowledge

    across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G service flows and interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with Ericsson baseband hardware and configuration

    .
  • Proven expertise in NOC operations

    , alarm handling, change management, fault diagnosis, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with

    network monitoring and management tools

    such as CITRIX, Putty, EMS, and Netcool.
  • Solid understanding of

    networking concepts

    including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
  • Good knowledge of

    IP networking protocols

    : OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, BFD, and Segment Routing.
  • Understanding of

    switching technologies and protocols

    : VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VRRP, HSRP.
  • Experience with

    ITSM frameworks

    , incident management, and working within SLA environments.
  • Strong

    analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking abilities

    .
  • Excellent

    communication and documentation skills

    .
  • Ability and willingness to

    work in shifts

    , including nights, US shifts, and weekends.
  • Proactive approach

    to identifying and resolving network incidents to maintain service continuity and customer satisfaction.
