AI Specialist - Accounting Automation & Implementation

As an AI Specialist - Accounting Automation & Implementation, you will collaborate with leadership and functional teams to identify key areas for AI-driven improvements in accounting, tax, and audit workflows. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and implementing AI solutions such as data extraction, document classification, anomaly detection, and automation of repeatable tasks. You will also be responsible for training and fine-tuning machine learning models using company data to ensure compliance with US and Canadian accounting and regulatory frameworks. In this role, you will integrate AI tools with existing software platforms like QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel. You will lead training sessions and workshops for staff on the use of new AI tools and workflows. Monitoring AI system performance, troubleshooting issues, and recommending enhancements will be part of your daily tasks. It is crucial to stay updated with emerging AI technology trends, especially those relevant to accounting and finance. Documenting processes, model parameters, and providing regular updates to stakeholders will also be essential. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in AI/ML development and implementation, with accounting industry experience highly preferred, is required. Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn is essential. Experience with natural language processing, OCR, and RPA tools, as well as familiarity with common accounting platforms and their APIs, will be advantageous. Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages are a must. Excellent communication and training skills are necessary, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff. Proven project management and problem-solving abilities are also desired. Preferred attributes for this role include experience in US/Canadian tax, accounting, or audit process automation, certifications in AI/ML or data science, knowledge of US/Canadian data privacy and security regulations, and prior experience in an outsourced or BPO environment.
