Nature Harvest Farms is building a high-efficiency, sustainable farming model using protected cultivation techniques. By combining polyhouse and net house infrastructure with precision control over climate, fertigation, and pest management, NHF delivers high-quality, year-round crops with minimal environmental impact.
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Agronomist to lead the design, execution, and optimization of all agronomic activities on our soil-based protected farm. You will play a key role in managing crop health, improving yields, and implementing best practices in modern, climate-controlled farming. This is a field-intensive, execution-driven role requiring deep agronomic expertise, problem-solving, and hands-on work across the entire crop lifecycle—from planning and planting to harvest and post-harvest handling.
Key Responsibilities
Crop & Field Management
· Design crop cycles based on site conditions, infrastructure, and market demand.
· Guide all agronomic activities including seed selection, soil preparation, planting, fertigation, and IPM.
· Monitor environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, light) and adjust systems for optimal crop health.
· Conduct routine crop scouting for nutrient deficiencies, pest/disease pressure, and plant growth benchmarking.
· Manage pruning, trellising, and other crop-specific practices for yield and quality optimization.
Infrastructure & Systems Oversight
· Oversee installation and calibration of drip irrigation and fertigation systems.
· Ensure proper functioning of polyhouse/net house infrastructure, including shade nets, fans, and foggers.
· Support development and refinement of SOPs for nursery, transplanting, fertigation schedules, and pest control.
· Manage irrigation and fertigation schedules using drip systems and water-soluble nutrients.
· Ensure proper calibration of tools and adherence to hygiene protocols across the farm.
Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain accurate field logs, fertigation records, pest monitoring reports, and yield data.
· Collaborate with the operations team to track performance metrics and improve efficiency.
· Stay updated on relevant agronomy research, regulatory advisories, and climate-smart practices.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, or Agricultural Engineering.
· 1-2 years of experience in protected cultivation with soil (polyhouse or net house setups).
· Proficiency in fertigation, drip irrigation, pest management, and climate-controlled farming practices.
· Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in farm recordkeeping tools (Excel or Google Sheets).
