AGM - QA / QC

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management & System Implementation

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA & QC systems and SOPs across the plant.

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF standards and support audits (internal/external).

• Lead documentation, calibration, traceability, and testing standardization.

2. Metallurgical & Process Control

• Monitor and control metallurgy parameters in melting, refining (Ladle / VOD / AOD), and heat treatment processes.

• Ensure adherence to grade chemistry, microstructure requirements, hardness, strength, impact properties, etc.

• Review heat-wise chemical reports, mechanical test results & approve final quality.

3. Laboratory Administration

• Ensure effective functioning of Chemical & Mechanical Laboratories.

• Supervise Spectrometer, UTM, Hardness Tester, Impact Testing, Microstructure Lab, NDT resources, etc.

• Ensure test accuracy, lab discipline, equipment calibration, and inter-lab validation.

4. Product & Process Quality Control

• Conduct process audits for melting, casting, rolling/forging & machining stages.

• Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA for internal rejections and customer complaints.

• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams for defect reduction and yield improvement.

5. Customer Quality Management

• Interact with customers for quality approvals, audits, complaints handling, and technical support.

• Maintain good relationships with QA departments of key customers.

6. Team Development

• Lead, guide, and mentor QA/QC engineers, metallurgists, and lab technicians.

• Promote a quality culture and training on quality awareness and standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Reduction in internal rejections and rework %

• Reduction in external customer complaints

• Heat-wise quality consistency

• Cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction

• Timely closure of CAPA and audit NCs

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Metallurgy / Materials Science

• 15 to 25+ years of QA/QC experience in Alloy Steel / Foundry / Forging / Melting industry

• Strong knowledge of metallurgical standards, lab testing, spectrometry, and process controls

• Exposure to ISO 9001 / IATF / NABL preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
