Job Description Role Overview: The QC Incharge will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring quality control procedures for stainless steel tube production in accordance with applicable standards (EN, ASTM, ASME, etc.). The role involves supervision of testing, documentation, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Control Oversee all quality control activities throughout the production processfrom raw material inspection to final product dispatch. Implement and maintain inspection standards and sampling procedures for incoming materials, in-process, and finished goods. Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as EN 10204, ASTM A249/A269/A213, etc. Develop and enforce product testing methods (e.g., hydro, air-under-water, eddy current, PMI, dimensional inspection). 2. Testing & Inspection Management Supervise mechanical, chemical, and NDT testing. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments and testing equipment. Review and approve test certificates (e.g., 3.1 certificates) before dispatch. 3. Documentation & Reporting Maintain inspection records, heat numbers, calibration logs, and test reports. Prepare and review quality-related documentation for internal and external audits. Coordinate with production, maintenance, and dispatch teams for quality issues and corrective actions. 4. Compliance & Audit Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, PED, or other applicable quality management systems. Lead internal and external quality audits, including customer and third-party inspections. Liaise with external testing laboratories and inspection agencies (TV, Lloyds, BV, etc.). 5. Team Management Lead and train QC inspectors and lab technicians. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across departments. Candidate Profile Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Production Engineering. Experience: 2-7 years of experience in quality control within a stainless steel tube or pipe manufacturing plant (preferably seamless or welded). Hands-on experience with EN / ASTM standards, hydro testing, air under water testing, flattening / flaring tests, PMI, and documentation as per EN 10204 Type 3.1. Familiarity with ISO 9001 systems, third-party inspections, and traceability documentation. Skills Required: Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, tube forming, and annealing. Sound understanding of quality management tools (8D, RCA, CAPA, etc.). Good command of MS Office, ERP, and report preparation. Leadership and communication skills for managing QC staff and coordinating with production and marketing teams. Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, disciplined, and quality-conscious. Proactive in identifying and resolving quality issues. Capable of working under pressure and meeting inspection deadlines. Reporting To: Factory Head / Production Head
