Advanced Purchasing Analyst (APA)- Contract

JOB PURPOSE: This role is responsible for processesing requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

JOB DUTIES:

1.Work in conjunction with Category Buyers and Managers to perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives

2.Deliver analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data including but not limited to; purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, master data, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements

3.Support customer and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection. All other duties as assigned.

4.Data analysis of previous years spend data for a specific commodity to come up with recommendations/suggestions on the opportunities to be pursued for cost or supplier consolidation

5.Track the price variations of parts from suppliers and provide support to Buyers

6.Review price mismatches with PO vs Invoices and close the GRN process

7.Support Buyers on RFQs, supplier assessment and issue POs

8.Monitor and track the forex details on monthly basis, to get the cost advantages.

9.Monitor and track the commodity prices.

10.Support plants on production orders, coordinate with India suppliers and ensure delivery as per plant requirement.

11.Support the customer on timely shipments and make sure transportation is aligned.

12.Co-ordinate with local and international logistics team to support material movement.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

1.B.Tech or BE in Mechanical Engineer/Electrical/Electronics with minimum 3 years of experience or Diploma with 5 years of experience

2.Experience in manufacturing processes, production flow and material movement

3.Well-developed communication skills

4.Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs

5.Collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work across functions to perform work deploying supply chain improvements

6.Demonstrated problem solving skills to solve common problems

7.Ability to function as a team player

8.Flexible towards overlap working hours with US time zones

9.Experience in Global sourcing and global supply chain, strong communication and presentation skills will be required to communicate with global teams on daily basis

10.Preferable experience in railway industry or automobile sector or heavy industrial equipment

11.Preferred experience or understanding of complete supply chain process and also knowledge of logistics terminology.

This position will be on third party rolls.
