The Study Abroad Counsellor is responsible for guiding and supporting students who wish to pursue higher education overseas. This role involves helping students select the right academic path, assisting with university applications, managing visa processes, and preparing them for successful transition to international institutions. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one counselling to students on course selection, country options, university choices, and career planning. Guide students through the application process, including documentation, timelines, and submission for universities in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and other key destinations. Assist with the preparation of SOPs (Statements of Purpose), Letters of Recommendation, and resumes/CVs. Advise students on standardized test requirements such as IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, SAT, and help them enroll in test prep. Conduct mock visa interviews and help students with the visa application process. Stay updated with changing admission guidelines, immigration policies, and university programs. Organize and attend seminars, university fairs, webinars, and promotional events. Build and maintain relationships with international university representatives. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress using CRM software. Provide pre-departure briefings including cultural orientation, travel, accommodation, and budgeting. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, International Relations, or related field (Master’s preferred). 1–3 years of experience in overseas education consulting or academic counselling. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of education systems in popular study destinations (USA, UK, Canada, etc.). Familiarity with application portals and CRM tools. Ability to work in a target-driven environment. Empathetic, organized, and culturally sensitive.
