Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry and Bookkeeping:
- Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of all financial transactions.
- Accounts Payable:
- Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile supplier statements and address discrepancies.
- Prepare and execute timely payments to suppliers.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Prompt issuance of customer invoices and statements.
- Conduct follow-ups on outstanding payments and reconcile customer accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording of incoming payments and update customer records as necessary.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Regularly reconcile bank statements with the general ledger.
- Investigate and rectify any discrepancies or issues identified.
- Expense Management:
- Process and verify employee expense reports, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of company expenses and manage timely employee reimbursements.
- GST Filing and Compliance:
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations and liaise with tax authorities as required.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax regulations and advise on the implications for company operations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Support the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in financial audits and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.
- General Administrative Support:
- Provide additional administrative support as needed to assist the finance team and overall business operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with specific experience in GST filing and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and GST filing platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Preferred:
- Experience with specific accounting software such as QuickBooks or Tally.
- Certification or advanced coursework in accounting (e.g., CA Inter, CMA) is a plus.
- Familiarity with broader tax regulations and compliance requirements.
