Accounts Assistant

You will be responsible for accurately inputting financial transactions into accounting software from source documents like receipts, invoices, and bank statements. Additionally, you will be required to match bank statements to recorded transactions to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Posting transactions to appropriate accounts in the general ledger to maintain a comprehensive record of financial activity will also be part of your duties. You will generate basic financial statements like income statements and balance sheets and assist with gathering information and preparing tax returns. To excel in this role, you must have proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.), strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent data entry skills, numerical fluency, and the ability to perform calculations accurately. Your organizational skills will be essential to maintain clear financial records. A basic understanding of accounting principles and practices is also necessary. It is important to note the distinction between bookkeeping and accounting. While bookkeeping primarily focuses on recording and organizing financial transactions as the foundational data collection process, accounting takes the data from bookkeeping and performs analysis, interpretation, and reporting to provide insights for decision-making. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a B.COM qualification. This position is open only to female candidates and is a full-time role with a day shift schedule and weekend availability.
