Our Bhopal branch is a key operational hub, and we are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic finance team.

Job Overview:

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the accounts department in day-to-day financial operations. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of basic accounting principles to ensure efficient management of financial transactions, record-keeping, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping:

  • Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and post daily sales, purchase, expense, and bank entries.
  • Handle petty cash management and reimbursement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers (Debtors, Creditors, General Ledger).

2. Invoicing & Billing:

  • Generate customer invoices and ensure timely billing.
  • Follow up on pending payments and reconcile customer accounts.
  • Assist in processing vendor bills and ensuring accurate documentation.

3. Bank Reconciliation:

  • Perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor bank transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.

4. Inventory & Stock Accounting:

  • Assist in reconciling physical stock with book records.
  • Support in inventory valuation and related journal entries.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain proper filing of vouchers, invoices, and financial documents (both physical and digital).
  • Assist in preparing monthly TDS statements, GST returns, and other statutory compliance filings.
  • Support the senior accounts team in preparing monthly MIS, P&L summaries, and balance sheet schedules.

6. Compliance & Audit Support:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and statutory audits.

7. Coordination & Support:

  • Coordinate with the sales, warehouse, and purchase teams for financial data validation.
  • Assist in resolving queries from vendors and customers related to accounts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, or related field.
  • Freshers may be considered; preference for candidates with 6 months to 2 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Tally ERP 9/Prime is mandatory.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and other statutory norms.

Soft Skills:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills (Hindi and English).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in retail, furniture, or FMCG industry accounting.
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting processes.
