Accounting Specialist

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for Accounts Payable
• Review and process expense reports
• Prepare batch payments and input into bank account
• Responsible for accurate coding of expenses to the appropriate GL accounts
• Responsible for accurate coding of expenses to the appropriate customer/project
• Update and maintain prepayment and fixed asset excel files
• Prepare and post journal entries for prepaid expenses and fixed assets
• Assist with preparation of year-end schedules for annual audit and tax
• Prepare annual files for contractors and vendors for yearly 1099 reporting
• Participate in special projects and provide assistance in other areas as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Experience with Excel, QuickBooks and ERP software
• Experience within CRO or project driven business is an advantage
• Acute attention to detail
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Good work ethic and displays a can-do attitude
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Work well independently and cooperatively with others

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS:

• Bachelors degree (B.A.) in accounting
• 3 years’ experience with GL accounting
• Strong accounting skills and understanding of GAAP accounting standards
• Ability to read and analyze Balance and P&L reports
• Proactive self-starter and strong team player
• Work US EST the first 5 business days of each month
• Available US EST as needed for team meetings
