Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting for multiple salon outlets (if applicable).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor cash flow, P&L statements, and balance sheets.
  • Reconcile daily sales from POS software (e.g., Zenoti/other salon software) with accounts.
  • Ensure timely closure of monthly books.

2. Revenue & Billing Management

  • Verify daily salon sales, packages, memberships, refunds, and discounts.
  • Ensure correct GST application on services and product sales.
  • Reconcile card, UPI, and cash collections with bank deposits.
  • Highlight revenue discrepancies to operations and management.

3. Payables & Receivables

  • Manage vendor payments, utility bills, rent, and other salon expenses.
  • Track vendor invoices and ensure timely payment cycles.
  • Handle receivables from corporate clients, partners, and franchises.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors for smooth operations.

4. Payroll & Commission Management

  • Prepare monthly payroll in coordination with HR.
  • Calculate stylist and therapist commissions as per salon policy.
  • Ensure TDS, PF, ESI, and statutory deductions are accurate.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Work closely with salon managers to monitor inventory usage and wastage.
  • Verify purchase orders, GRNs, and stock entries.
  • Track product cost, consumption patterns, and highlight variances.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives.

6. Taxation & Compliance

  • Manage GST returns, TDS filings, and other statutory compliance.
  • Ensure proper documentation for audits.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, CA, and tax consultants.

7. System & Process Management

  • Manage accounting software (Tally/Zoho/QuickBooks) and POS software integrations.
  • Ensure all financial data is accurately updated in the system.
  • Develop SOPs for cash handling, billing, and expense approvals.

8. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with the Operations team for revenue verification.
  • Coordinate with HR for payroll and staff reimbursement management.
  • Support management with financial analysis for new salon openings.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com / M.Com / MBA preferred).
  • 48 years of accounting experience, ideally in retail or salon/spa/beauty industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Tally, GST, TDS, MS Excel, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in POS systems like Zenoti, Slick, or similar (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under timelines and multitask.
