Job Title: Academic CounselorJob Summary:We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Academic Counselor to guide and support students in making informed academic and career choices. The role involves providing counseling, academic planning, and mentorship while ensuring students achieve their educational goals.Key Responsibilities:Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions for students regarding academic planning, course selection, and career pathways.Guide students in identifying their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.Assist in resolving academic and personal issues that may affect student performance.Support students in developing effective study habits, time management, and goal-setting strategies.Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, student progress, and follow-ups.Collaborate with faculty and administration to ensure students receive adequate academic support.Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and orientation programs for student development.Stay updated on educational trends, admission procedures, scholarships, and career opportunities.Provide guidance to parents/guardians on students’ academic progress and career choices when necessary.Ensure compliance with institutional policies and maintain confidentiality of student information.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.Prior experience in academic counseling, student support, or education advisory preferred.Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.Empathetic, patient, and able to build rapport with students.Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.Knowledge of current educational systems, career opportunities, and higher education pathways.Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, parents, and administration.Work Environment:Office-based with regular interaction with students, faculty, and parents.Occasional requirement to conduct workshops, events, and counseling sessions beyond regular working hours.
