ABAP / SAP ABAP Consultant

Role Overview

design, development, testing, and support of ABAP solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement SAP ABAP solutions ranging from small enhancements to large-scale projects.
• Conduct technical analysis, code reviews, unit testing, and documentation for all deliverables.
• Develop and validate technical specifications, test scripts, and ensure compliance with coding standards.
• Perform impact analysis for new requirements or change requests from a techno-functional standpoint.
• Support production configuration and assist in resolving functional change requests.
• Analyze and resolve critical technical issues, including break/fix activities, within agreed timelines.
• Provide expertise during release upgrades, enhancements, and implementation of new functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP releases, tools, and best practices; share applied research with the team.
• Ensure adherence to Pathlock methodologies and procedures across the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of SAP ABAP experience, including

  minimum 2 End-to-End Implementations

  and at least 2 Support Projects.
• Strong expertise in:
• ABAP Workbench Objects & Data Dictionary
• Interactive Reporting, ALV Reporting
• Module Pool Programming & Enhancement Framework
• OOPS ABAP concepts
• OData services
• Proficiency in debugging and resolving complex issues.
• Understanding of SAP Authorizations.
• Exposure to SAP HANA concepts (AMDP, CDS Views, SQL Scripts preferred).
• Strong communication skills (written & spoken English) and the ability to work in global teams.

Desired Skills

• Experience in software product development.
• Knowledge of IT Governance, GRC, and ITIL framework.
• SAP certification in relevant areas.
• Familiarity with .Net, Java, SAP UI5/OpenUI5.
• Experience using service/change management tools.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities.
