Education:

Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Business Management

Experience Range

10 - 15 years

Professional Experience/ Skills:

  • Channel Management skills required
  • Prior experience in Life Insurance sector
  • Experience in Sales , esp. Group Sales
  • Sales Focus and Drive
  • Strong ability to collaborate across lines of business
  • Strong Client Management skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Team management

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Planning

  • Develop the annual sales plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve business goals
  • Responsible for new business development and to ensure consistent flow of new revenue for the company
  • Responsible for the primary forecasting and evaluation of financial and operational risks for the Group Business and install measures to mitigate the same
  • Plan for scaling and growing the Group business for SLIC and its integration with tech systems as required
  • Plan implementation of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the business performance.
  • Develop initiatives and programs to enhance customer experience
  • Stay abreast of competitor activities

Group Sales

  • Develop and maintains effective network within the business community and industry
  • Develop, maintain and nurture long term relationships with top accounts and key client decision-makers.
  • Monitor the management and other changes within the client organizations to preserve and protect the Company's relationship with the client.
  • Plan and oversee a consultative selling process to existing as well as potential corporate / group customers

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with IT to ensure required system and technology support is made available, implementation of automation initiatives and ensuring sales technology is adequate

Team Management

  • Build and grow the team in line with business requirements and scale up plans. Ensure adequate staffing.
  • Establish and maintain strong performance driven culture in the team.
  • Establish priorities and targets for team members; Work with them in identifying and resolving issues
  • Review performance of the team on a regular and continuous basis and provide developmental feedback. Identify training needs of sales team; Ensure relevant training (for example, managing relationships, selling skills, negotiation, product training) is provided to sales teams regularly
  • Address issues relating to policies, procedures, norms, etc. during review meetings
