X-ray Technician

Assisting with X-ray Procedures:

1. Prepare patients for X-ray imaging procedures, including explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.

2. Assist in positioning patients correctly and applying shielding to protect sensitive areas from radiation exposure.

3. Collaborate with senior X-ray technologists and radiologists for guidance and support.

Radiation Safety and Quality Control:

1. Follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff and oneself from unnecessary radiation exposure.

2. Assist in routine maintenance checks on X-ray equipment under the supervision of senior technologists.

3. Adhere to quality control procedures and safety guidelines.

Patient Care:

1. Provide clear instructions to patients regarding X-ray procedures and any necessary preparations.

2. Offer support and reassurance to patients during the examination.

3. Assist with maintaining patient records and documentation, including clinical history.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

1. Assist in the operation of X-ray equipment, ensuring that it functions properly during procedures.

2. Report any equipment malfunctions to senior technologists for troubleshooting and repairs.

3. Coordinate with the hospital's engineering and maintenance staff for equipment servicing.

Documentation and Compliance:

1. Assist in maintaining accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information and image documentation.

2. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations and relevant legal and ethical standards.

Continuing Education:

1. Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to improve skills and knowledge in radiologic technology.

2. Work toward obtaining the required certifications and licensure.
