Welding Operator Spot Welding

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Location: Zaheerabad

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Welding In-Charge

Qualifications : ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fitter, or related trade (preferred).

Experience: 4- 6 years of experience in spot welding operations in manufacturing engineering industry.

* Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes will be an added advantage.

Job Purpose:

The Welding Operator will operate manual or semi-automatic spot welding machines to join sheet metal parts as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The role requires precision, adherence to safety guidelines, and a focus on productivity and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate spot welding machines to weld sheet metal components as per specifications.

* Read and interpret engineering drawings / work instructions prior to welding operations.

* Prepare and align workpieces by cleaning, clamping, and positioning materials correctly.

* Set and adjust machine parameters (current, pressure, timer) based on material requirements.

* Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure weld quality.

* Perform routine maintenance of welding equipment (electrode dressing, coolant checks, cleaning).

* Maintain accurate daily production records and report equipment or quality issues.

* Follow workplace safety standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies:

* Hands-on experience in spot welding / resistance welding.

* Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings.

* Knowledge of welding materials, machine settings, and quality inspection methods.

* Attention to detail with strong focus on accuracy and safety.

* Team player with good communication and reporting skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

* ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fitter, or related trade (preferred).

* Minimum 24 years of experience in spot welding operations in a manufacturing/automotive/engineering industry.

* Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes will be an added advantage.
