Welding Manager

We are seeking a skilled and certified Welding Engineer to oversee welding operations, develop welding procedures, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fabrication, inspection, and welding process optimization, along with a valid AWS/CSWIP 3.1 certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).
• Conduct visual inspection of welds and ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.).
• Monitor welding activities and provide technical guidance to welding personnel on-site.
• Ensure all welding operations are performed in accordance with approved procedures and project specifications.
• Evaluate welding defects and suggest corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients for welding inspections and audits.
• Maintain records of welders performance, welding parameters, and inspection reports.
• Implement welding-related quality control procedures and participate in root cause analysis of welding-related failures.
• Collaborate with design, production, and QA teams to improve weld quality and productivity.
• Stay updated with the latest welding technologies, standards, and certification requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• AWS/CSWIP 3.1 Certified Welding InspectorMandatory.

• In-depth knowledge of various welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, etc.).
• Strong understanding of NDT methods (RT, UT, PT, MT) and their application in welding inspection.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in sectors like oil & gas, fabrication, heavy engineering, or chemical plants.
• Exposure to international codes and standards like ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, ISO 3834, etc.
• Hands-on experience in welding automation or robotic welding systems is a plus.
