Job Description

Position Overview

Weld Shop Manager

Key Responsibilities

Welding Operations Management

Oversee daily welding activities for sheet metal components in the press shop.
Ensure adherence to welding standards, procedures, and specifications.
Manage MIG, TIG, Spot Welding, and Robotic Welding processes.

Process & Equipment Control

Monitor welding machines, jigs, fixtures, and automation systems for optimal performance.
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for welding equipment.
Drive process improvements to reduce cycle time and enhance weld quality.

Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality standards.
Conduct weld inspections, destructive/non-destructive testing, and defect analysis.
Implement corrective and preventive actions for welding-related issues.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor weld shop supervisors, engineers, and operators.
Conduct training programs on welding techniques, safety, and quality standards.
Foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Customer & Supplier Interaction

Coordinate with customers for weld quality approvals and audits.
Collaborate with suppliers for consumables, fixtures, and automation solutions.
Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints related to weld quality.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols in the weld shop.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvement measures.
