Position Summary

The Web Developer (India-Based) is responsible for the design, development, optimisation, and maintenance of responsive, high-performing websites. The role involves working across Framer, WordPress, and other no-code/low-code platforms to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly digital experiences.

The role combines hands-on technical development with critical thinking, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset to help design systems that evolve alongside business needs. The Web Developer will contribute to new builds while ensuring existing sites remain reliable, secure, and optimised.

The role will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and product teams to translate creative and functional requirements into live environments that meet both organisational and stakeholder needs.

Team Structure

This role sits within the Digital team and reports directly to the Technical Services Manager.

The Web Developer collaborates closely with developers, marketers, and subject matter experts across the Streamline Business Group, with the potential to contribute to both internal and client-facing projects as Streamlines digital capability expands.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and launch responsive websites using Framer, WordPress, and modern no-code/low-code platforms.
• Translate UI/UX wireframes or Figma prototypes into pixel-perfect, functional web pages.
• Customise WordPress themes and plugins to meet branding and functional requirements.
• Monitor performance, security, and reliability across all active websites.
• Carry out regular CMS upgrades, plugin/theme updates, and bug fixes.
• Troubleshoot site issues, broken links, form errors, and indexing problems (SEO, GEO, AEO).
• Upload and manage content, including blogs, banners, media assets, and campaign landing pages.
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility for all updates.
• Conduct site audits using Google PageSpeed, Lighthouse, and GTMetrix.
• Collaborate with SEO and marketing teams on tracking tags, schema markup, and A/B testing.
• Provide landing pages and site updates to support marketing campaigns and seasonal initiatives.

Role Expectations

• Deliver projects on time and to specification while maintaining high standards of design and functionality.
• Maintain strong site performance scores and address issues identified in audits promptly.
• Ensure websites are secure, with routine backups, firewalls, and proactive monitoring.
• Provide clear documentation and communication to stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, balancing deadlines and dependencies.
• Proactively suggest improvements to workflows, site performance, and user experience.

Selection Criteria

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design.

• Minimum 3 years of working experience as a web developer.

• Proven experience with Framer, including CMS integrations and animations.

• Advanced WordPress skills, including theme customisation, plugin configuration, and page builders (Elementor, WPBakery).

• Familiarity with Webflow, Wix, or other visual builders advantageous.
• Experience managing staging environments, hosting, and deployments.
• Proficiency in backups, site cloning, security plugins, and firewall management.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices, including structured data, meta tags, sitemaps, and robots.txt.
• Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage overlapping deadlines and competing priorities.

Knowledge (what the person must know)

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.

• Solid understanding of WordPress (themes, plugins, page builders like Elementor/WPBakery).
• Familiarity with Framer (components, CMS integrations, animations).
• Awareness of modern no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Webflow, Wix).
• Knowledge of web performance tools (Google PageSpeed, Lighthouse, GTMetrix).
• Understanding of SEO best practices, including structured data, meta tags, sitemaps, robots.txt.
• Working knowledge of website security practices (backups, firewalls, security plugins).
• Basic knowledge of hosting environments, staging setups, and deployment workflows.
