Web Application Developer

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Web Application Developer to join our team on a critical project for a client in the financial services industry. This role focuses on expanding and optimizing an existing web application, ensuring robust performance, maintainability, and the adoption of modern development practices. Key Responsibilities: Add new features and functionality to the existing web application written in core-PHP. Enhance the performance, responsiveness, and reliability of the application. Elevate code quality and readability by migrating from core-PHP to a modern framework such as Laravel. Integrate the application with external systems and services through REST APIs. Write and/or update queries in AzureSQL databases. Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams for solution delivery. Required Skills & Qualifications: Core-PHP web application development experience. Proficiency in connecting to other applications via REST API. Working knowledge of Python. Ability to write and update AzureSQL queries. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap (or similar lightweight front-end frameworks). Preferred Qualifications: Experience migrating legacy core-PHP codebases to frameworks like Laravel. Good understanding of application architecture and design principles. Hands-on experience with GitLab source control management (SCM). Familiarity with application deployment using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
