Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Relationship Managers (RMs) / Wealth Advisors in the Private Client / affluent / high-net-worth (HNW) segment.
  • Drive acquisition, retention, and growth of private-client relationships.
  • Act as a bridge between frontline sales (RMs) and broader bank strategy / product teams.
  • Manage risk, compliance, and client onboarding, ensuring high service standards.

  1. Client Acquisition & Growth

    • Work with team to identify and source new private client or high-net-worth clients.
    • Develop and implement strategies for client acquisition, targeting both onshore and offshore markets (depending on region).
    • Drive business growth through enhancing client wallet sharedeposit, investment, lending, insurance, etc.
  2. Relationship Management

    • Oversee RMs to ensure they deliver holistic wealth advice: investments, trust, legacy planning, credit, etc.
    • Guide the team in understanding client needs, mapping to bank product solutions.
    • Ensure high-touch service team to maintain regular client engagement, portfolio reviews, and proactive advisory.
  3. Product & Solution Advisory

    • Work closely with product teams (investments, credit, trust, insurance) to deliver tailored solutions.
    • Ensure RMs are well-equipped with knowledge on bank’s wealth offerings (funds, bonds, equities, discretionary mandates, structured products).
  4. Risk, Compliance & Onboarding

    • Ensure all client onboarding is compliant: KYC / AML documentation, risk profiling, suitability checks.
    • Work with compliance, legal, and operations teams to ensure governance standards are maintained.
    • Oversee periodic review of client documentation and risk assessments.
  5. Business Strategy & Planning

    • Define and execute the private client team’s business plan in alignment with broader bank wealth management / consumer banking goals.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor landscape, and client behavior to adapt strategy.
    • Prepare business reports, forecast AUM growth, and track key metrics (conversion rates, attrition, revenue per RM, etc.).
  6. Stakeholder Management

    • Liaise with senior management to communicate team performance, challenges, and roadmap.
    • Coordinate with marketing, product, operations, and trust / fiduciary teams to roll out initiatives.
    • Represent the team in senior forums and drive cross-department collaboration.
  7. Client Events & Brand Building

    • Lead or support high-profile client events, seminars, and networking forums to engage private clients.
    • Promote bank Treasures / wealth brand through thought leadership, client education, and relationship-building.
