Job Description

Key roles of WAREHOUSE MANAGER 1. Warehouse Operations Management • Oversee daily operations in the warehouse including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods. • Ensure proper handling of fragile, odd-shaped, and varied-size handicraft items. • Maintain accurate stock records through inventory management systems or manual logs. • Implement best practices for space utilization and safe storage (e.g., for wood, ceramics, textiles, etc.). Key Focus: Stock accuracy, proper storage conditions 2. Packing and Dispatch Management • Supervise packing of orders for both domestic and export markets. • Ensure packaging is protective, eco-friendly where possible, and aesthetically pleasing. • Develop and implement packing standards to prevent damage in transit. • Coordinate with logistics providers for on-time dispatch and delivery. Key Focus: Damage prevention, cost-effective and creative packaging, compliance with export requirements. 3. Quality Control at Dispatch Level • Final inspection of products before packing to ensure quality and consistency. • Reject or report any defective or substandard items to sourcing or production teams. • Maintain records of damages, returns, and packing issues. Key Focus: Last-mile quality assurance and customer satisfaction. 4. Inventory & Documentation Management • Track inward and outward inventory movements accurately. • Manage stock levels and reorder points in coordination with the sourcing team. • Maintain documents for shipments (invoices, packing lists, export documentation). Key Focus: Zero inventory mismatch, full audit readiness. 5. Team Supervision and Training • Manage warehouse and packing staff assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure safety. • Train team members on safe handling of fragile goods, proper packing techniques, and hygiene. Key Focus: Productivity, safety, and team efficiency. 6. Coordination with Cross-functional Teams • Work closely with sourcing, production, sales, and logistics departments. • Communicate delays, stock issues, or damage incidents promptly. Key Focus: Smooth supply chain communication and problem-solving. 7. Compliance and Safety • Ensure warehouse operations comply with health, safety, and legal standards. • Implement fire safety, pest control, and cleanliness protocols. Key Focus: Safe working environment and regulatory compliance. 8. Process Improvement • Identify bottlenecks and propose layout or process changes. • Reduce packing and handling time while maintaining quality. Key Focus: Operational efficiency and cost savings.
