Position: Wardrobe & Cabinetry Designer

Location: Gurgaon

Education and Training Requirements:

• You will usually need a relevant degree/diploma in interior design from an institute of repute.
• Working knowledge of Auto CAD, Sketchup, Photoshop is a must

Work Experience: 3-5 years of working experience in the home interior segment is a must.

Purpose of Role:

• The Purpose of the role is to work closely with architects/home owners, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and builders, to determine how interior spaces will be furnished.
• The job combines the efficient and functional use of space with an understanding of aesthetics of domestic spaces (homes)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Complete knowledge and understanding of factory-made modular furniture (Kitchens, wardrobes, and other storage units).
• Determine the scope and client’s taste, vision and requirements.
• Understand clients' needs and the needs of the people using the space to develop design concepts and establish final briefs.
• Sketch preliminary design plans after taking all the components into account including plumbing, lighting, existing electricals if any as well as the people who will be using the space.
• Research and gather information and photographs relating to the project.
• Produce 'sample' or 'mood' boards to present to clients.
• Prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes, often using computer-aided design (CAD) software & Sketchup.
• Work closely with architects and other design professionals to determine the best use of space and make sure all design requirements are met.
• Meeting with architects, inspectors, plumbers, electricians, painters and other specialists to coordinate plans and make sure all requirements are met.
• Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures.
• Identify new business and sell services to potential clients.
• Keep up to date with new developments in the design industry.

• Artistic ability: Develop designs that look great and are aesthetically pleasing.
• Creativity: Imaginative in selecting furnishings and fabrics and in creating spaces that serve the client’s needs and fit the client’s lifestyle.
• Detail oriented: Precise in measuring interior spaces and making drawings, so that furniture and furnishings will fit correctly and create the appropriate environment.
• Interpersonal skills need to be able to communicate effectively with clients and others. Much of time is spent soliciting new clients and new work and collaborating with other designers, engineers, and general building contractors on ongoing projects.
• Problem-solving skills. Must address challenges, such as construction delays and the high cost or sudden unavailability of selected materials, while keeping the project on time.
• Visualization. Must have a strong sense of proportion and visual awareness, to understand how pieces of a design will fit together to create the intended interior environment.
• CAD: A high level of technical knowledge, including CAD and model-making skills.
• Knowledge of software like Sketchup, Enscape etc.
• Drawing Skills: Good drawing skills, including perspective drawing and spatial awareness.
• Attitude: A flexible attitude is needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month

• Gurgaon, Haryana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
