VACANCY NOTICE

Application are invited for Two post of Guest faculty's for Nanomaterial Science and

Theoretical Studies in the Centre for Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, Panjab University.
Chandigarh to be filled in through Walk-in-interview, purely on temporary basis, for the

academic session 2022-2023.

The post is on purely contract basis with honorarium/salary of Rs. 1000/- per lecture with an

upper limit of Rs. 25.000/- per month as per Panjab University rules.

Qualification for the Two Post of Guset Faculty in CNSNT
ESSENTIAL

(i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks ) 50% for SC/ST Physically

Handicapped) or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is
followed at the Master's Degree level i.e M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, M.Tech in Materials Science or Nanoscience Science or any other allied field

candidate must hold Ph. D degree in the subject mention above form Indian

University or an equivalent degree an accredited foreign University as per Panjab

University and UGC guidelines.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the
(ii) National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant discipline conducted by the UGC

or a similar test accredited by the UGC or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D

Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum
Standards and Procedure for Award or M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) regulation, 2009 or

2016 and their amendment from time, as the case may be, exempted form NET:

the candidate registered for the Ph. D programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall be Provided,
governed by the provision of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Regulation

of the

Institution awarding degree and such Ph. D candidate shall exempted
from the requirement of

NET for recruitment and appointment of guest faculty subject to the fulfillment of
the

following conditions:
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate had been awarded in a regular mode; b) The Ph. D thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners

c)An Ph. D viva voce of thec andidate had been conducted; open
Candidate has published two research paper from his/her Ph. D work, out of d) The

which at least one is in a refereed journal;
on his/her Ph. D work in

c) The candidate has presented at least
two paper based

conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/ supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any

similar agency.

The fulfillment of these condition is to be certified by the Vice Chancellor or the Dean
(Academic Affairs) or the University concerned. The conditions mentioned above for

candidates registered for Ph. D prior to July 11, 2009 will be applicable.
Or

The Ph. D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking
among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time)j by any one of the following Qucquarelli Symonds (QS) (Gi) the Times Higher Education(THE).

NOTE: Relaxation if any, will be as per P.U. rules. The selected candidates shall be teaching
the course content as mentioned in Ph. D (available on PU website) of Panjab University.
