Job Description

About Us

Ours is a forward-thinking business specializing in virtual reality experiences / immersive technologies. We deliver engaging VR interactions for clients/customers in [industry or context: entertainment, training, simulation, etc.]. We’re now looking for a reliable, tech-savvy VR Operator to join our team and ensure smooth, safe, engaging VR sessions.

Role Overview

As a VR Operator you’ll be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and managing virtual reality experiences, guiding participants, ensuring equipment is functioning, and maintaining a safe and immersive environment. You’ll be the first point of contact for users of the VR system and will help make their experience memorable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers/participants, explain how the VR experience works, do a safety briefing.
  • Set up and calibrate VR hardware (headsets, controllers, tracking systems), ensuring everything is functioning properly.
  • Monitor the VR session: ensure participant comfort, troubleshoot basic technical issues (e.g., tracking errors, headset adjustments).
  • Clean and maintain equipment and environment between sessions to industry/health & safety standards.
  • Assist with booking/check-in of customers, manage scheduling and turn-over of sessions.
  • Provide guidance or tips to participants to enhance their experience (if context is entertainment) or ensure correct use (if training/simulation).
  • Report equipment or technical faults, assist in logging issues and liaising with technical support.
  • Potentially help promote add-ons, merchandise, or extended session time (if in a commercial entertainment setting).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfortable working with technology — VR headsets, controllers, tracking systems.
  • Good interpersonal and customer-facing skills; able to guide, instruct and reassure users.
  • Attention to safety – able to manage participants in VR safely, aware of spatial issues, tracking, cables, etc.
  • Basic troubleshooting ability (e.g., restarting a headset, recalibrating).
  • Able to work shifts including weekends and evenings (if business is open outside typical hours).
  • Physically able to stand for sessions, help participants don equipment, possibly assist in resetting rooms between sessions.
  • Ideally, some experience in gaming, VR, simulation or interactive tech — though training may be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in VR operation, arcade/game-host role or training/simulation environment.
  • Knowledge of PC or console VR platforms (e.g., Oculus, META , PlayStation VR) and related hardware.
  • Experience in customer service, hospitality or entertainment business.

.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining:

  • Why you’re interested in VR & immersive technology.
