Job Description

VMware Administrator Location: Hyderabad Experience: 5-8 years Immediate joiners preferred. Kindly share resume to nsenthil.kumar@genpact.com with Sub of "VMware" along with notice period. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining VMware vSphere environments, building & decommission servers, and resolving server-related queries. The role involves supporting IT infrastructure on vCenter vSphere and ESXi Hypervisors 6.5, 7.0, and 8.0, and working proactively on ticketing tool requests. Responsibilities Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server. Perform regular updates and patches to VMware infrastructure. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of virtual environments. Administer and support Windows and Linux servers within the virtual environment. Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services. Implement and manage storage solutions, including SAN and NAS Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Manage user access and permissions within the virtual environment. Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans. Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures. Ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex issues related to VMware infrastructure. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve network, storage, and application issues. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures. Lead and participate in IT projects related to virtualization and infrastructure improvements. Install, configure, and manage VMware vRealize Automation environments. Develop and maintain automation workflows using vRA and vRealize Orchestrator (vRO). Perform regular updates and patches to vRA infrastructure. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of automation environments. Qualifications we seek in you! Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications/ Skills Server Hardware Dell/HP/Cisco UCS Monitoring Tools – Skyline, vROps, SolarWinds Automation – PowerShell, vRealize Automation Ticketing Tools – ServiceNow Good communication skills Outstanding troubleshooting skills Outcomes Oriented – Successfully manage a set of responsibilities until its completion Team Player with a capability to work successfully with various personalities Work well under pressure Operate self-sufficiently Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server, and related technologies. Familiarity with virtual networking, storage, and security concepts. Experience in designing and implementing VMware HA and SRM solutions.
