VMC Programmer

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled VMC Programmer with hands-on experience in Tool Room operations and Mould & Die manufacturing. The candidate must have strong expertise in Delcam and Smeetron software for CNC programming and toolpath generation. Key Responsibilities: Create CNC programs using Delcam and Smeetron software based on 2D/3D designs. Set up and operate VMC machines for precise machining of mould and die components. Select tools, define machining strategies, and optimize cutting parameters. Interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and apply GD&T standards. Simulate tool paths and verify programs to ensure collision-free and accurate machining. Coordinate with design and tool room teams to understand part requirements. Conduct dimensional inspection using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, CMM). Ensure machining quality, surface finish, and adherence to tolerances. Maintain records of programs, tool setups, and machining parameters. Follow safety procedures and perform routine maintenance on machines. Required Skills: Proficiency in Delcam and Smeetron software for CAM programming. Hands-on experience with VMC machine setup and operations. Knowledge of mould and die components (core, cavity, inserts, slides, lifters, etc.). Strong understanding of machining processes, tool geometry, and material properties. Ability to read and understand complex 2D/3D drawings and GD&T. Familiarity with tool room practices and die manufacturing standards. Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade. Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in VMC programming and operation in a mould & die environment. Must have real-time working experience with Delcam and Smeetron software.
