VMC Programmer

Program Development:

• Develop efficient and accurate CNC programs for VMC machines using advanced CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, PowerMill) based on 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Determine optimal cutting tools, machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depth of cut), and machining strategies for various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, exotic alloys).
• Create and modify G-code and M-code programs manually as needed for fine-tuning or complex operations.

Process Optimization:

• Optimize existing CNC programs to reduce cycle times, improve surface finish, and enhance tool life without compromising part quality or accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and debug programs, identifying and resolving issues related to tool paths, collisions, or machining errors.
• Implement best practices for machining processes to achieve high precision and efficiency.

Tooling & Setup:

• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding fixtures for specific jobs.
• Provide clear setup instructions to VMC operators, including tool lists, setup sheets, and program explanations.

Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with quality control personnel to ensure manufactured parts meet all dimensional and surface finish specifications.
• Participate in first-off inspections and make necessary program adjustments.

Documentation & Standards:

• Maintain organized records of all CNC programs, setup sheets, and relevant documentation.
• Adhere to company quality standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.

Collaboration & Training:

• Work closely with design engineers, production supervisors, and VMC operators to ensure seamless workflow and resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and training to VMC operators on program interpretation and machine operation.
