VMC Operator

Job Title: VMC OperatorDepartment: Production / MachiningReports To: Production Supervisor / Plant ManagerJob Purpose:

To operate and monitor the Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machine to produce precision components as per the given drawing and quality standards, ensuring timely completion of production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate VMC machines according to job requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions.
• Load raw materials and ensure correct tool setup in the machine.
• Operate control panels and input machining programs (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi or relevant controls).
• Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.).
• Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and routine checks.
• Identify and report machine or tool malfunctions to supervisors.
• Achieve daily production targets while minimizing rework and rejection.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies.

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of VMC machine operation and CNC controls.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools, offsets, and machining processes.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Qualification & Experience:

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist / Fitter / Mechanical or relevant field.
• 5 years of experience in VMC operation (Fresher with technical knowledge may also be considered).

Work Environment:

• Workshop / Machine shop environment.
• Requires standing for long hours and handling materials.
• Safety equipment (helmet, shoes, gloves) to be worn during work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,527.48 - ₹22,000.00 per month
