Currently, we are looking for an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Consultant Specialist within our team. In this position, your responsibilities will include: - Taking on the role of SME Lead for medium to complex projects - Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting COBOL programs in a CICS/VSAM/JCL environment - Grasping the design and requirements to develop and execute custom application features and functions - Breaking down BRD requirements into MVPs and stories - Collaborating with Architects, Solution Analysis, SMEs, and various teams to drive optimal solutions - Providing estimates for medium to large projects - Creating high-level designs, analyzing, and developing code as per specifications - Conducting peer reviews for design/code/unit test results - Adhering to standards and controls to ensure quality outcomes - Supporting production deployment and post-development implementation activities - Providing application production support - Offering support for development projects and production support as required - Participating in and facilitating Crisis Calls for production incidents - Identifying and working on system performance improvements - Mentoring junior developers within the team - Managing stakeholders effectively Requirements for success in this role include: - 9+ years of experience in developing and maintaining complex banking applications, particularly in credit card processing - Solid knowledge of VisionPLUS product - Hands-on expertise in one or more VisionPLUS modules like CMS, FAS, TRAMS, LTS, ASM, VMX, WINGSFM, etc. - Proficiency in COBOL and CICS - Familiarity with Mainframe technologies such as Endevor, Changeman, and batch scheduling activities - Experience in designing and developing medium to highly complex problems - Good understanding and experience of DevOps and Agile practices - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Exposure to working as a technical lead for small to medium-sized projects - Experience in development projects, production support, particularly in handling crisis situations - Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, etc. - Knowledge of Digital Technologies and APIs Join HSBC to achieve more in your career and visit www.hsbc.com/careers for further information.
