VI Operator

The VI Operator role involves conducting visual inspections of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to detect defects, ensure adherence to IPC standards, and validate product quality within the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector. Your contributions are crucial in upholding the superior quality of manufactured products. Your primary responsibilities will include visually inspecting PCB assemblies post-SMT and/or through-hole processes, detecting and documenting defects like solder bridges, missing components, polarity discrepancies, and misalignments. Utilizing magnification tools and inspection aids for meticulous examination, you are to guarantee compliance with IPC-A-610 standards or specific customer quality requirements. Accurate documentation of inspection outcomes, maintenance of records, and segregation of non-conforming items for rework are integral parts of your duties. Effective communication of findings to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams, along with supporting improvement initiatives by highlighting recurring issues, are also key responsibilities. Furthermore, adherence to ESD and cleanroom protocols, alongside ensuring a tidy inspection area, is essential. To qualify for this position, you should hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical training being advantageous. Previous experience in an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment is preferred, along with knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards (certification is beneficial). Strong visual acuity, manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to work independently, basic computer skills, and the capacity to undergo prolonged periods of sitting or standing during inspections are desired traits.
