Job Description

As a Powertrain Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in integrating powertrain components and sub-systems into the vehicle architecture. Your responsibilities will include identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex system-level issues that may arise from the interaction between various powertrain components and other vehicle systems. You will conduct vehicle-level testing, data acquisition, and analysis to validate powertrain system performance, drivability, fuel economy, and emissions. In addition, you will utilize diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, sensors, and data logging software to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system behavior. Collaboration will be key in this role as you work closely with engine calibration, transmission calibration, software, hardware, and vehicle validation teams to ensure comprehensive powertrain functionality and meet program targets. You will develop and execute test plans for powertrain integration validation, participate in root cause analysis of powertrain-related vehicle issues, and communicate technical findings clearly to cross-functional teams and management. It is essential to stay updated on new powertrain technologies, industry trends, and integration best practices. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field along with at least 3 years of experience in vehicle powertrain integration or system engineering within the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of gasoline and/or diesel engine principles, transmission operation, and driveline components is required. Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic and data acquisition tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape, Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, oscilloscopes, and various automotive sensors is essential. Experience with automotive communication protocols, vehicle testing, validation, and issue resolution processes is beneficial. Preferred qualifications include experience with model-based system engineering tools, familiarity with automotive regulations related to powertrain performance and emissions, and experience in a vehicle program development and launch environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with diverse teams. Your work environment will primarily be office-based with significant time spent in vehicle, test lab, and/or proving ground environments. Domestic travel may be required as part of the job responsibilities.,
