The Position

We are looking for a highly motivated virtualization specialist to architect, implement, and maintain our VMware infrastructure, deliver robust backup and recovery solutions with Veeam, and design network virtualization using VMware NSX-T. In this role, youll also provide basic Linux and Windows administration support to keep our environments secure, performant, and compliant.

Responsibilities

Virtualization Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere clusters (hosts, DRS, HA, vMotion)
• Build and maintain vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, datastores, and distributed switches
• Plan capacity and lifecycle upgrades for VMware components
  

Network Virtualization

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot VMware NSX-T Data Center
• Define logical segments, distributed firewall rules, and routing policies
• Implement micro-segmentation for workload isolation and compliance

Backup & Recovery

• Architect and administer Veeam Backup & Replication for virtual and physical workloads
• Configure backup jobs, replication, Sure Backup jobs, and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) testing
• Develop and test disaster recovery procedures

Operating System Administration

• Perform basic Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS): user/account management, package updates, shell scripting, networking
• Perform basic Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022): Active Directory, Group Policy, patch management, DNS.

Performance, Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor infrastructure health (CPU, memory, storage, network) and tune for optimal performance
• Investigate and resolve VM, host, storage, or network issues under tight SLAs
• Maintain dashboards, alerts, and capacity forecasts

Security & Compliance

• Apply security best practices: hardening ESXi hosts, securing vCenter, and NSX-T controllers
• Manage patch cycles for VMware, Linux, and Windows platforms
• Enforce role-based access control and audit trail review

Documentation & Collaboration

• Create and maintain runbooks, design diagrams, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with application teams, network engineers, and storage administrators
• Provide on-call support in a 247 rotation

Required Skills

• VMware vSphere 7+ administration (clusters, performance tuning, upgrades)
• VMware NSX-T installation, segmentation, routing, and security policy configuration
• Veeam Backup & Replication design and administration (jobs, replicas, restores Backup)
• Basic Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration
• Scripting with Bash and/or PowerShell for automation and reporting
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, firewall rules, load balancing
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
• VMware NSX-T Data Center Certification
• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
• Familiarity with automation tools (Shell, Bash, Python)
• Knowledge of ITIL processes or Agile methodologies

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization and backup solutions
• Proven track record delivering high-availability, secure, and scalable infrastructures
