We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Hadoop Platform Engineering Specialist (Consultant Specialist)

In this role, you will:
To be a part of Team which manages one of the biggest Big Data Estate in Banking Industry. Data Provisioning Technologies team is central Platform team in HSBC managing and working on all aspects of CDP / ODP Platforms and various Data / Analytics teams.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
6-8 Years Experience in Unix/ Linux Administration with working experience on upgrades, ITSA Process , Automations etc.

Expert level knowledge and troubleshooting Skills of Unix Infrastructure (Linux/AIX/Solaris)
Expert level Troubleshooting experience on Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster setup. Expertise in Network topologies, TCP/IP and Routing Adept knowledge of RAID Levels such as RAID-0, RAID-1, RAID-1+0, RAID-5 Excellent knowledge of LVM and LUNs (SAN) configuration on Unix (Linux/AIX/Solaris) Skillsets and expertise on virtualization (Cloud / VMware technologies) Working knowledge on in-place upgrades from RHEL7 to RHEL8 using the Leapp utility Ability of support role swap / DR tests Effective in dealing with Crises calls/Critical issues for business-critical services Ability to develop simple/complex shell scripts as per requirements. Troubleshooting various issues like performance, OS booting problems, Filesystem etc. . . on servers. And Strong technical knowledge in respective technology.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Primary job responsibilities
Ability to operate and maintain various OS platforms, with a focus on debugging, automation, availability, performance, and scale. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems. Work and collaborate across teams, such as Applications, Hardware, Network etc. Using your expertise in principles of automation and continuous improvement, you will help create an environment where availability, reliability, and security.
Additional Skill
Good knowledge about one of automation tool like Ansible / Puppet / chef
Knowledge about Agile practices and DevOps tools.
RedHat/Volumn manager Certification will be an added advantage.
Well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
