Job Description: TRP – Tax Return Preparer

Organization: M/s. Arvindkumar R. Maniar (Chartered Accountant)

A Tax Return Preparer (TRP) is responsible for assisting individuals, businesses, and organizations in preparing and filing accurate tax returns. The role requires strong knowledge of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate tax-related information clearly to clients.

Key Responsibilities1. Tax Preparation & Filing

  • Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITR) for individuals, firms, and businesses.
  • Review financial statements, income details, deductions, and tax exemptions.
  • Ensure all returns comply with current tax laws and regulations.

2. Client Coordination

  • Gather required documents and information from clients.
  • Clarify tax queries and provide guidance on allowable deductions and compliance.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and provide timely updates.

3. Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and secure records of tax-related documents.
  • Organize financial information for easy access during assessments or audits.
  • Ensure confidentiality of client information.

4. Compliance & Regulatory Updates

  • Stay updated on latest tax rules, government notifications, and filing deadlines.
  • Ensure error-free filing and timely submission of returns.
  • Assist clients in compliance checks and responding to tax department notices.

Qualifications & Skills Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certification/Authorization as a TRP (if applicable in your region).

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in tax preparation (or Fresher TRPs can also apply depending on organization).

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of Income Tax laws and filing procedures.
  • Familiarity with tax filing software (e.g., ClearTax, TaxCloud, government e-filing portal).
  • Well versed in MS Excel, Tally / Miracle

Soft Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and client-handling abilities.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure during filing season.
  • Work Location: Rajkot, Gujarat : In person
