Trolley Assistant

A Trolley Assistant, also known as a Trolley Boy or Cart Attendant, is responsible for collecting, organizing, and returning shopping carts or trolleys to designated areas, ensuring they are readily available for customers. They also play a role in maintaining a safe and pleasant shopping environment by removing debris, reporting damaged carts, and potentially assisting customers with cart-related needs.  Key Responsibilities: Collecting and Returning Trolleys: Gathering trolleys from various locations (parking lots, store aisles, etc.) and returning them to designated storage areas. Maintaining Trolley Availability: Ensuring a sufficient number of trolleys are available for customer use. Inspecting and Reporting: Checking trolleys for damage or wear and tear and reporting issues for repair or replacement. Customer Assistance: Helping customers locate or return trolleys and providing general assistance. Maintaining Cleanliness: Removing debris and trash from trolleys and potentially cleaning them. Safety Compliance: Addressing potential hazards related to stray trolleys, such as blocking walkways or creating tripping hazards. Potential Additional Tasks: In some settings, Trolley Assistants may also be involved in tasks like straightening merchandise, cleaning spills, and emptying trash bins, particularly in the front of the store.  Working Conditions: Outdoor/Indoor Environment: May involve working both indoors and outdoors, potentially in various weather conditions. Physical Demands: Involves walking, lifting (depending on the specific role and environment), and potentially operating machinery for cart retrieval or compaction.
