Job Description

As a Trainee Engineer in the Foundry Maintenance department, you will play a crucial role in assisting senior maintenance engineers and technicians in the upkeep of foundry equipment and facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and overhauls, as well as performing regular inspections to identify potential issues. Your problem-solving skills and technical knowledge will be put to the test as you troubleshoot equipment-related issues and collaborate with maintenance teams to implement corrective actions. Key Responsibilities: - Assist senior maintenance engineers and technicians in performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and overhauls of foundry equipment. - Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and report findings to supervisors. - Participate in troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues, using problem-solving skills and technical knowledge. - Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify root causes of problems and implement corrective actions. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment history. - Update maintenance schedules and plans as needed. - Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and company policies. - Participate in safety audits and training programs. - Stay up-to-date with new technologies, equipment, and maintenance techniques. - Apply knowledge and skills to improve maintenance practices and contribute to departmental goals. Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering. - 0-2 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or a related field. - Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and control systems. Desired Qualifications: - Prior experience in a foundry or metalcasting environment. - Familiarity with maintenance software, such as CMMS or ERP systems. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices. - Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
