Job Description

Role Overview:

The Ticket Checker (AC Waiting Lounge) is responsible for verifying passenger tickets and lounge access eligibility, ensuring that only authorised travellers enter and use the lounge facilities. The role requires maintaining decorum, assisting passengers courteously, coordinating with front-desk and housekeeping staff, and ensuring smooth lounge operations in line with customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ticket & Access Verification

  • Check passenger train tickets, PNRs, and lounge booking confirmations at entry.
  • Validate eligibility based on travel class (e.g., AC class, lounge booking).
  • Deny or escalate entry to unauthorised passengers politely.
  • Maintain a log of all checked entries and visitors.

2. Customer Handling & Assistance

  • Greet passengers courteously and guide them to seating or refreshment areas.
  • Assist passengers with train timing, platform information, or lounge facilities.
  • Provide special assistance to senior citizens, women, and differently-abled passengers.
  • Ensure a calm, comfortable, and professional environment in the lounge.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with the reception/front desk for passenger check-ins.
  • Communicate with housekeeping and pantry staff to maintain cleanliness and service standards.
  • Report operational issues or customer complaints to the Lounge Supervisor promptly.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Follow standard operating procedures for ticket checking and entry authorisation.
  • Maintain daily entry records, reports, and feedback logs.
  • Ensure all operational activities comply with safety, hygiene, and security protocols.

5. Discipline & Presentation

  • Maintain a professional appearance and polite conduct at all times.
  • Adhere to shift timings, attendance, and grooming standards.
  • Support the supervisor in maintaining order and discipline in the lounge area.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong observation and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer knowledge for digital check-ins (PNR or QR code scanning).
  • Calm and courteous behaviour under pressure.
  • Ability to work in coordination with multi-functional teams (security, housekeeping, catering).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
