Test Lead

Requirement:

A Test Lead with 10 years of experience operates at a senior level, blending hands-on expertise with strategic oversight, team leadership, and stakeholder management. Their role goes beyond simple test execution to encompass the entire quality assurance lifecycle.
Strategic Responsibilities

• Test Strategy and Planning:

  Develop and own the master test strategy

  for major projects or product lines. Define the scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required for testing.

• Risk Management:

  Identify, analyze, and mitigate quality risks

  across the project. You'll work with project managers and developers to prioritize testing efforts based on risk assessment.

• Process Improvement:

  Champion and implement QA process improvements

  . This includes introducing new tools, methodologies (like Agile or BDD), and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Stakeholder Communication:

  Serve as the primary point of contact for all testing matters.

  Communicate test progress, results, and risks

  to project managers, product owners, and senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.

Team Leadership and Mentoring

• Team Management:

  Lead, manage, and mentor a team of QA engineers

Project and Process Management

  Provide accurate time and cost estimates

  for testing activities. You'll often be involved in project planning and budgeting phases.

• Defect Management:

  Oversee the defect lifecycle process

  . This involves ensuring defects are logged correctly, triaged, tracked, and re-tested, and that defect metrics are analyzed to identify underlying issues.

• Metrics and Reporting:

  Define and track key quality metrics

Technical Responsibilities

• Test Automation Oversight:
