Position Summary

The Test Architect / Technical Test Lead is a senior, hands-on role within a flat and collaborative test team. Working alongside other test professionals, this role focuses on designing, implementing, and continuously improving testing strategies and automation frameworks across Scaffolding software products including .NET C# desktop applications, Angular frontends, Flutter mobile apps, and Azure-based backends. The successful candidate will champion agile testing best practices, integrate quality within CI/CD pipelines, and drive innovation in testing methods. They will contribute directly to testing activities while providing technical guidance, fostering collaboration across development, product, and DevOps teams, and ensuring software quality, reliability, and performance are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion Agile Testing Practices:

  Apply and promote best practices within an agile software development environment, embedding testing throughout the development lifecycle. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is built into every sprint, using agile testing approaches such as test-driven development (TDD), behaviour-driven development (BDD), and continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines.

• Demonstrate Strong Communication and Collaboration:

  Communicate effectively and build strong working relationships across technical and non-technical teams. Confidently articulate testing strategies, risks, and results in fluent Englishboth written and spokenwhile fostering collaboration, transparency, and shared ownership of quality within a flat, team-oriented structure.

• Develop and Refine Test Strategies:

  Define and maintain scalable, end-to-end testing strategies covering unit, integration, system, performance, security, and UI testing across .NET desktop, Angular web, Flutter mobile, and Azure backend applications.

• Architect Test Automation Frameworks:

  Design and implement robust, reusable automation frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Jenkins, and scripting in Python, Java, or Groovy.

• Lead Technical Execution and Oversight:

  Deliver hands-on test planning, design, and execution — including API, performance, and security testing — ensuring full coverage and effective defect tracking across all product components.

• Mentor and Provide Technical Guidance:

  Support and guide fellow testers, sharing best practices and technical expertise to enhance automation, tool use, and overall test quality.

• Drive Innovation and Standards Compliance:

  Evaluate and adopt emerging testing technologies and tools, ensuring adherence to standards for test data management, automation reusability, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate and Report:

  Work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to align testing with business goals, providing clear test metrics, quality insights, and risk reports to stakeholders.

• Investigate and Optimize:

  Identify gaps in test coverage, lead root-cause analysis of issues, and implement improvements to enhance test effectiveness and efficiency across all platforms.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: 16+ years in software testing, with at least 4 years in a senior/lead role focused on test automation and architecture; proven track record in CI/CD environments and agile/DevOps practices, including experience with multi-platform products (desktop in .NET C#, web in Angular, mobile in Flutter) and Azure backends.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, ReadyAPI, Appium) and scripting (e.g., Python, Java, Bash, Groovy).

• Expertise in performance (e.g., JMeter) and security testing.

• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL), APIs (REST/SOAP) with hands-on API testing using Postman, Azure tokens, authentication, and other Azure-based technicalities for web service testing.

• Familiarity with .NET ecosystems, Angular for web, Flutter for mobile, and Azure cloud platforms.

• Experience with defect tracking (JIRA) and version control (Git).

• Certifications: Azure administrator certifications preferred.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences; ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AI/ML-based testing tools or microservices testing, particularly in Azure environments.

• Contributions to open-source testing projects or publications on testing best practices.

• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with teams in different time zones and dynamic release cycles.
