Telecom Engineer Electrical

Role & responsibilities

Telecom & ICT Systems (Data Center Focus)

• Design telecom and ICT infrastructure for

  hyperscale data centers

  , including fiber/copper backbone, structured cabling, telecom rooms, and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate telecom systems with

  MV/LV power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency power

  to ensure full integration with missioncritical electrical networks. [linkedin.com]
• Prepare telecomrelated schematics, routing plans, bills of materials, and installation drawings aligned with electrical and mechanical systems.

ElectricalTelecom Integration

• Collaborate with electrical engineering teams on data center design criteria, load management, power availability for network equipment, and redundancy planning.
• Ensure telecom systems comply with data center electrical codes and global standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), especially where telecom systems interface with electrical infrastructure.

BIM, Coordination & QA/QC

• Review and contribute to multidiscipline

  BIM models

• Participate in engineering coordination meetings across architecture, electrical, mechanical, security, and IT/ICT disciplines. [aecom.jobs]
• Verify quality of CAD/BIM production for telecom and electrical elements.

Construction Support

• Support construction administration: review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, perform site inspections, and validate installation against design intent and data center requirement

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering

• 10-20+ years of experience in telecom/ICT/electrical engineering, including involvement in missioncritical or data center projects.
• Experience with telecom system design integrated into LV/MV electrical infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with

  hyperscale or highdensity data center projects

  , including telecom and electrical system interfaces.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC), data center design guidelines, and redundancy/Uptime concepts.
• Familiarity with NEC/IEC electrical standards commonly applied in data centers.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary global teams and Common Data Environments (BIM 360, ProjectWise).
