Job Description

Model Creation and Detailing : Create detailed 3D models of steel structures using Tekla Structures software. Generate accurate and comprehensive fabrication and erection drawings from the 3D models. Collaboration : Work closely with structural engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that the models and drawings meet project specifications and requirements. Coordinate with other detailers and drafters to ensure consistency and accuracy across all project documentation. Quality Control : Review and check drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in the models and drawings. Material Takeoffs : Prepare detailed material takeoffs and bills of materials (BOM) for fabrication and construction. Ensure that all materials are accurately quantified and specified. Clash Detection : Use Tekla Structures to detect and resolve clashes or conflicts in the model before construction begins. Ensure that all components fit together correctly and that there are no interferences. Documentation : Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of all models, drawings, and revisions. Ensure that all project documentation is stored and archived according to company and project standards. Compliance and Standards : Ensure that all models and drawings comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices. Project Management Support : Assist project managers with scheduling and planning by providing accurate and timely models and drawings. Provide support during the construction phase by addressing any issues related to the models and drawings. Training and Mentorship : Provide training and mentorship to junior detailers and drafters. Share knowledge and best practices with the team to improve overall efficiency and quality. Continuous Improvement : Continuously seek ways to improve detailing processes and workflows. Stay updated with the latest features and functionalities of Tekla Structures software.
