Job Opportunity: Technical Specialist - SOTI MobiControl Server Upgrade & Support (3-5 Years)
Notice Period: Immediate - 30 Days
Location: Hyderabad & Bengaluru
We are seeking a technical resource with expertise in SOTI MobiControl to lead and support server upgrades, configuration, and ongoing administration. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless upgrade execution, minimal downtime, and system stability, while also supporting day-to-day mobility operations across devices and applications. This individual will collaborate with IT teams, end users, and vendors to maintain a secure and efficient enterprise mobility management (EMM) environment.
Mandatory Skills:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute SOTI MobiControl server upgrades (on-premise or cloud-based)
- Perform pre-upgrade assessments, backups, patch testing, and validation to ensure smooth rollout
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising during or after upgrade processes
- Configure and maintain SOTI MobiControl environments, policies, and device groups
- Manage device enrollment, application deployment, and system integrations
- Work closely with vendors and support teams for escalations, patches, and bug fixes
- Document upgrade procedures, system changes, and technical runbooks
- Ensure system security compliance and align with corporate IT policies
- Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to support teams and end users
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise mobility management (EMM/MDM) platforms
- Hands-on experience with SOTI MobiControl server upgrades and administration
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL databases, IIS, and networking fundamentals
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, patching, and system performance monitoring
- Familiarity with ITIL-based incident/change management processes
Technical Skills:
- Certifications in SOTI MobiControl Administration or Microsoft Infrastructure
- Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance requirements in mobility systems
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) and hybrid deployments
- Installation, configuration, and upgrades of SOTI MobiControl servers (on-prem or cloud)
- Strong knowledge of MobiControl architecture (management server, deployment server, database server, device agents)
- Experience with device enrollment, provisioning, and policy creation for Android, iOS, and Windows devices
- Understanding of MobiControl scripting (device management rules) and automation features
- Knowledge of application deployment, patch management, and OS updates through SOTI
- Experience with Windows Server administration (IIS, DNS, Active Directory)
- Database expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (backup, restore, performance tuning)
- Familiarity with certificate management (SSL/TLS, PKI) for secure communications
- Understanding of high availability (HA) and load balancing for MobiControl deployments
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and restore procedures
- Strong knowledge of firewall rules, ports, and proxy configurations required for MobiControl
- Familiarity with VPNs, mobile gateways, and reverse proxy setups
- Hands-on with LDAP/Active Directory integration for authentication and role-based access
- Awareness of mobile device security policies (encryption, compliance, containerization)
- Experience planning and executing MobiControl server upgrades (minor and major versions)
- Familiarity with upgrade prerequisites (OS, SQL, .NET, Java dependencies)
- Ability to test, validate, and rollback in case of upgrade issues
- Experience with migrating devices and servers across data centers or cloud environments
- Proficiency in analyzing server logs, device logs, and event viewer entries
- Hands-on with SOTI diagnostic tools and SQL query troubleshooting
- Knowledge of common issues such as device connectivity, agent updates, and certificate expiration
- Ability to work with SOTI support (vendor escalation) for unresolved cases
- Familiarity with API integrations (REST/SOAP APIs) for connecting MobiControl with other ITSM, ERP, or reporting tools
- Experience integrating with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, or other MDM/EMM solutions (nice to have)
- Knowledge of syslog and SIEM tools for log forwarding and security monitoring
