Technical Program Manager, Design and Construction

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to strategize requirements, assess risks, manage project timelines, and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams across the organization. You will excel in articulating your team's analyses and recommendations to executives, as well as engaging in technical discussions with engineers regarding product development tradeoffs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide leadership and management to ensure the successful delivery of the expanding global fleet of Data Centers within the APAC Region. This entails overseeing multiple projects across evaluation, design, agreements, construction, and operational handover. Your project portfolio will encompass initiatives at both greenfield sites and operational facilities, catering to smaller scale data center infrastructure deployments as well as hyper-scale data centers. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate extensively with negotiators, project managers, engineers, and construction and operations teams to devise solutions that align with our operational requirements for data center delivery. As part of the team, you will be actively involved in all implementation phases, contributing your expertise to drive the successful execution of projects. Your responsibilities will include managing a global data center design and construction team, overseeing construction or capital improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements at all stages, from design to operations hand-off. You will establish and maintain robust delivery models and vendor relationships, employing relevant metrics to gauge performance and outcomes. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing growth strategies, participating in talent recruitment efforts for roles such as project management, field engineering, document control, and technical writing. Moreover, effective communication with internal business partners to gather project plans, drivers, and deadlines will be crucial for initiating build projects and mobilizing contractors. You will be tasked with creating high-level project plans that outline resource requirements and critical paths essential for project success.
