Job Description

As a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) and associated accessories & components, your primary objective is to oversee the engineering efforts in developing innovative, cost-effective solutions aligned with customer-specific technical and market requirements. Your involvement will span across all stages of the product and part development lifecycle, from initial concept to production readiness. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop LV electrical distribution products in accordance with technical specifications and market demands. - Lead the complete product development process, including design, prototyping, testing, documentation, and preparation for manufacturing. - Utilize your expertise in LV products like MCCBs, ACBs, contactors, thermal relays, and various accessories for comprehensive design and development. - Conduct detailed engineering analysis using fundamental design principles and tools to ensure product integrity. - Employ 3D CAD software, such as Pro/ENGINEER, for intricate design feasibility studies and modeling. - Demonstrate proficiency in manufacturing processes and tooling for both metallic and plastic components. - Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) assessments, proposing alternative materials and production techniques. - Define and implement product qualification, certification, and reliability testing processes. - Oversee prototype development, build, and testing procedures. - Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures for any design-related issues. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, sourcing, finance, marketing, and suppliers, to ensure design validation and production readiness. - Maintain and update comprehensive product documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and design guidelines. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution. - 8-15 years of experience in the design and development of low voltage electrical distribution devices. - Demonstrated expertise in product design, production engineering, and value engineering. - In-depth knowledge of LV circuit breakers (MCCB, ACB), product costing, and quality standards. - Strong understanding of manufacturing processes like molding, casting, and assembly, inclusive of tooling design. - Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (e.g., Pro/ENGINEER) and mechanism design with dimension chain analysis. - Proven project and design management capabilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for global stakeholders. - Experience in managing the complete product lifecycle from concept to production. - Strong commercial acumen and understanding of techno-commercial trade-offs. - Self-motivated, analytical, and solution-oriented with a positive and persuasive demeanor. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies is an added advantage.,
