Technical Lead- AWS & DevOps

About the Role:

We are seeking a Technical Lead AWS Engineer with DevOps expertise to spearhead our cloud infrastructure initiatives. This is not just a hands-on engineering role we are looking for a leader who can guide, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, while driving innovation, automation, and operational excellence across our AWS ecosystem. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who prefers to automate recurring issues rather than manually resolve them, someone who thrives on innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in AWS and DevOps practices with proven leadership experience, ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and resilient. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our infrastructure strategy, leading automation initiatives, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities:

1.

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs).
• Promote a culture of reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Act as the senior escalation point for critical incidents and technical challenge

2.

• Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and resilient AWS infrastructure leveraging services like EC2, S3, CloudFormation, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks to handle deployment, monitoring, incident management, and recovery processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and CloudFormation.
• Write scripts (Python, Shell, Bash, or Perl) to automate repetitive operational tasks and production issue resolutions.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Code Pipeline to ensure smooth, reliable deployments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Development, and Security teams to enhance infrastructure performance and security posture.
• Drive cost optimization and capacity planning initiatives for AWS resources.

• Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration systems for high availability and scalability.
• Ensure smooth operations of Docker-based workloads and EKS clusters.

• Establish and enforce SRE best practices focusing on automation, observability, and proactive issue prevention.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
• Manage infrastructure upgrades, patching, and version control for production systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident management as a senior escalation point.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• AWS Expertise:

  Deep hands-on experience with EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC configurations.

• Automation & IaC:

  Strong experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools.

• Containerization:

  Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).

• Scripting & Programming:

  Skilled in Python, Shell, Bash, or Perl for automation and operational tasks.

• CI/CD & DevOps:

  Solid understanding of Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Code Pipeline.

• Monitoring & Observability:

  Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Datadog.

• Version Control:

  Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab for managing source and configuration code.

• Security & Compliance:

  Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.

• Leadership:

  Demonstrated experience leading teams, mentoring peers, and managing technical projects.

• Soft Skills:

  Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities; capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications:

  AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
• Experience in designing self-healing and auto-remediation systems.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven workflows.
• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
• Prior experience in an SRE or DevOps leadership role.
